Located near Valparaiso, Indiana, sits Taltree Arboretum and Gardens. Recently voted 2014 Best of the Region by The Times of Northwest Indiana, Taltree is a dog friendly preserve of woodlands, wetlands, prairies and formal gardens. It also offers a variety of events, classes and exhibits though out the year. From its unique Railway Garden, to the Children’s Adventure Garden, Taltree has something for every age.
For the past three years, Taltree has been working with Pannier Graphics to replace existing signs and create unique, one-of-a-kind signs.
“Taltree’s former signs were made out of wood and we found those signs to wear quickly and were also difficult to clean,” said Stephanie Blackstock, Taltree’s Executive Director. “Pannier’s signs are sleek, stand up to the elements, and look professional – a perfect combination for an outdoor nature-focused institution! Pannier’s signs are great for those with limited budgets, such as Taltree, because of their durability. Our favorite sign is in the Wetlands group. It has numerous photos and a complicated graphic in which Pannier was able to accommodate. ”
In addition to ordering Pannier’s standard exhibit bases Taltree worked with Pannier’s staff to design Cut-to-Shape entrance signs, Double Sided signs that are suspended above the Adventure Garden Entrance and “lollipop” signs in the Children’s Adventure Garden. Since Taltree is open all year long, Pannier’s Fiberglass Embedded Panels were the perfect choice thanks to their ability to withstand the weather and superior durability.
“We enjoy the variety of shapes and sizes that Pannier is able to accommodate,” said Blackstock. “For instance, our “lollipop” signs in the Children’s Adventure Garden not only educate readers but also attract children because of their fun shape. The sign’s design, shape, and texture relate to our audience. We understand that in order for a sign to be informative to the reader, it must intrigue all of their senses.”
“Pannier’s quality of work has surpassed our expectations with regards to quality and durability,” said Blackstock. “The staff is helpful and professional while ensuring that our creative desires are highlighted. We look forward to working with Pannier to further our mission in education and conservation.”
