The North Country Trail is the longest trail in the National Trails System. It stretches 4,700 miles across eight states. These two unique trailhead signs are positioned at strategic points along the combined North Country and Buckeye Trail in the beautiful city of Defiance, Ohio. This trailhead sign project is a combined effort of the City of Defiance and Defiance County to showcase the community as a Trail Town.
The Buckeye Trail is a loop of over 1,400 miles connecting scenic and historic paths throughout the state of Ohio. These custom trailhead signs serve a dual purpose. They provide local hikers, bikers, and visitors with information about the community and the portion of the trail that travels through Defiance County. They also provide education and encourage trail usage as an opportunity to improve community wellness. The two Upright exhibit bases stand tall at the Buckeye Trail trailheads and creatively display the city name.
