Looking for a something fun and adventurous to do on your summer vacation this year? Look no further than Southern and Eastern Kentucky! Though the efforts of TourSEKY, the southern and eastern Kentucky areas have something for everyone.
TOUR Southern and Eastern Kentucky is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, develop and market the existing, and any potential, tourism industry throughout southern and eastern Kentucky. TourSEKY spans 47 counties and offers a number of programs to help tourism development.
Recently, with funding from the Federal Highway Administration and the National Scenic Byway Program, TourSEKY made improvements to its 28 trails that are located along the State and National Scenic Byways in the region. The trails offer a variety of options for visitors such as biking, hiking/walking, horseback riding, dirt bike riding and canoeing/kayaking. Some of the trails are multi-use so visitors can do a variety of things.
“The goal of the project was to provide uniform signage at the trailhead for the trails located along our Scenic Byways,” said Maggie Bill, TourSEKY’s Programs Director. “The signs provide basic trail and safety information and GPS coordinates to the trail users along the byways. The signs also include basic tourism information for the specific area. “
TourSEKY and Pannier have worked on several projects over the years. Pannier’s fiberglass embedded panels are ideal for TourSEKY thanks to their superior graphics to display of the maps and information. The panels can be any size or shape and are designed to resist the extremes of weather and are backed by Pannier’s 10-year warranty. Pannier’s exhibit bases and frames were a perfect match as well. Since all frames and exhibit bases are built in Pannier’s facility, they are completely custom. Pannier has the flexibility in manufacturing to fit specific installation requirements. TourSEKY also took advantage of Pannier’s variety of colors and finishes choosing a color to best match their panels.
“We love working with Robin and the Pannier staff,” said Bill. “ Robin always ensures the finished project exceeds our expectations. My questions are always answered quickly, and if Robin is unavailable she makes sure I have a contact person to help me. I always receive timely progress reports and I am alerted when the projects are finished and ready to ship. Working with Pannier makes getting these projects off the ground much easier.”
